The world of aviation has completely changed since the creation of the first-ever aircraft back at the beginning of the 20th century. What began as four flights in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, has since transformed into cross-continental flying that has not only created an entire industry surrounding flight and tourism but technological advancements that have aided us in areas of astronomy, warfare, and physics. While flying has only been around for less than 120 years, let’s see how much knowledge you have!
Amelia Earhart is regarded as one of the most prolific pilots in modern-day history. Not only did she break records, but Amelia championed the advancement of women in aviation. She became the first person to ever fly solo from Hawaii to the United States, and the first of many other impressive feats. While she had an outstanding career, Amelia Earhart strangely disappeared in 1937 along with her navigator, Fred Noonan, over the central Pacific Ocean near Howland Island. Neither Earhart, Noonan, or the aircraft have ever been found!
Why is my profile picture a carrot? Hint 1: it's about my favorite music. Hint 2: it's about the suffering of the vegetables. Hint 3: the band in question has some pretty foul lyrics sometimes. Hint 4: don't be a tool. The cries of the carrots! Actually, the song is called Disgustipated by the band Tool. In it, Maynard James Keenan's *landlord* is heard discussing the plight of the carrots during Thanksgiving. Clearly, I am obsessed with useless trivia. :)
