First Televised Presidential Debate

TV had a huge impact on cultural and social movements because more and more people had TVs in their homes. For example - on September 26, 1960, JFK and Nixon participated in the first televised presidential debate. If you asked people who had listened to the debate on the radio, they all agreed Nixon won because his arguments were better but if you asked people who watched it on TV they said Kennedy won because Nixon looked sweaty, and tired, and nervous.
