Oil production has become quite a hot topic over the course of the last few decades. While there are a number of impacts oil fracking has on countless economies and the global environment, it seems as if it isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. With countries such as Russia, the United States, and Kuwait leading in oil production, it seems as if they are also leading in some of the highest environmental issues across the globe. Considering oil production has been well underway since 1869, just how much knowledge do you have when it comes to this greasy topic? Let’s find out!
Oil is used in just about every capacity possible, from cooking, mechanics, all the way to providing light and other energy sources. Prior to electricity, oil-burning lamps were used in order to create both home and street lights. This practice dates all the way back to the 16th century BC, where the earliest clay lamps were shallow bowls in which a wick was floated in a pool of oil. Since this took place in the Mediterranean regions, olive oil was used most often.
When Jessie was young, she always wanted to be a hairdresser. Turns out, writing quizzes and content for sites online involves cutting WAY less stuff off of people's heads. Who knew? But Jessie still cuts hair for her friends and family, who generally shy away from her friendly offers for a trim. Maybe it's the haircut, or maybe it's the trivia questions and obsession with the Kardashians that put them off. Jessie doesn't know, and Jessie is fine with that :)
